Are you struggling to find the Best Home Security System? You are not alone, or rather Home Alone !
Recently one of my close friends wanted to buy a good Home Security System for his house and didn’t realize the dilemma he would face. He was, pardon the pun, “alarmed” to find out that there are so many different brands and types in the market and every vendor saying theirs are the best. The prices can also range from $100+ to several thousands of dollars plus annual recurring fees.
So what is the best home security system ? Answer is there’s none.
Best does not have to be the most advanced and latest in technology. To my friend Best means easy to install, operate and maintain, effective and affordable. The system must also be suitable for the size and layout of the house and the family’s activities and habits.
He finally decided on the AAS-V700 Wireless Home Security System. He was a happy and a very satisfied user and has recommended that I install one myself. He shared with me his experience with the system and the reasons why it is one of the best, if not the best system available in the market now.
He is impressed with the Features
The package came with a big bunch of sensors including 25 door/window sensors, 5 motion detectors, 1 glass break sensor and 1 smoke detector, enough to cover the footprint of a big house. Three sirens/horns are included (one outdoor for your neighbours to hear and two indoor for yourself). The indoor sirens are so loud it will scare the hell out of any burglar, even if he is half deaf. So if you have animals at home, either train them to get use to it or keep them away when testing or activating the sirens. The outside siren is much softer but still audible to the neighbors without irritating them; a good and sensible feature.
The system supports up to 99 zones for an unlimited number of sensors per zone. The coverage is extensive and the signal strength can reach the garage and a detached office, if you have one.
The AAS-V700 Wireless Home Security System dials up to 6 phone numbers, so you can program it to call yours and your spouse’s cell or work phones, a friend and neighbor’s phones, or an alarm monitoring service.
Entry and exit delays and siren time can be programmed from 0 to 30 seconds.
These programmed delays can be disabled by using the key fobs that comes with the system. This is a useful function for inhibiting the alarm every time you come back to your home.
You can also access the system remotely by using the phone feature to arm, disarm or simply to monitor your home, giving you peace of mind.
The Pros
- Wireless, so there is no need to drill holes, lift carpets and run wires all over the house
- Easy to install, operate and maintain. This saves a lot of time and effort, crucial for people who are busy or simply lazy to go through the hassle.
- You can DIY and it’s almost idiot-proof. No need to pay hundreds of dollars for a professional alarm company to do this for you.
- Low cost and great value for money. No recurring yearly service or monitoring fees.
The Cons
- Since it is wireless you need to change the batteries periodically to ensure the system functions at the optimum level. I would strongly suggest replacing the standard batteries with the best heavy duty batteries.
- The double-sided tapes for the window/door sensors are not adhesive enough. I would suggest wiping and cleaning the area before sticking the tape. Using velcro is another alternative.
- No Alarm Security sign sticker was provided, though this can be purchase easily from a hardware store. A survey of criminals has indicated that nine out of ten would not bother burglarizing a home if they saw it was equipped with an alarm system.

Yes, it carries a two year warranty on the Keypad/Control Panel and a one year warranty on all components. It also comes with free lifetime technical support seven days a week by phone and email.

I am very happy that I purchased the AAS-V700 alarm system. It has all the bells and whistles! There were enough sensor in this kit to secure all my doors and windows. The instructions were super easy to read and understand and setup was a breeze! I used Velcro on the sensor with the battery to make it easier to remove when it comes time to change the batteries; I used screws on the magnet part of the sensor so they would stay up nice and secure. I had the opportunity to call customer service on two different occasions, and they were kind, professional and extremely helpful! If you want an excellent alarm system without having to pay for a service, buy this product, you will not be disappointed!

It was a breeze to set this up! Came with a huge number of window and door sensors. I only used 4 out of more than 25. It is loaded with a lot of features that compare to other professional systems like ADT.

My boyfriend and I have been seeing each other for a couple of years. When I'm busy at work etc. he usually hangs with his best mate (who is a girl) in a group. However in the past few months they have gotten really close and see each other by themselves and not in a group of friends like usual.
I told my boyfriend that i was feeling uncomfortable with the closeness of their relationship as it was beginning to overlap with my time with him. He felt very upset with me and defended her about it because they get on well and have similar interests. He said he isn't interested in her at all and i trust him however i think she may have a little crush on him from the conversations ive seen. I told him I wanted them to cool their friendship off a bit and not to hang with each other alone, especially at night. After some time I looked through his phone and discovered they went to the drive ins together during the week. He denied that they were alone but I knew he was lying again. I also found out that he had lied to me about where he was at certain times. He told me it was only to save a fight and he knew he shouldn't have gone to the drive ins and apologised for his mistake and didn't think about it properly first. I asked him if I was his first priority and if he had to choose between her or me he would definitely choose me even though he wants to have both and believes i shouldn't give him an ultimatum! They both don't see this as an issue at all and that its all innocent which i can understand. But now after our last fight he has begun to go behind my back about things which questions my trust for him! I'm not sure where to go from here even though i know its simply just a friendship which is sending off harmless warning alarms!

Hubby and I fell in LOVE with a 2006 Honda Odyssey Touring Edition. This van had EVERYTHING. Now I'm stuck on a fully loaded van or suv as nice as the odyssey, but more within our price range. Our family continue's to grow and we have out grown the Toyota.
