Asked: Soft ringing in left ear every couple of seconds?

Recently I've noticed while reading in silence in my room a weird, gentle ringing in my left ear that only lasts about a second or two at a time. It sounds like a high pitched alarm going off in my head that I can only just make out in silence. Kind of freaked out to be honest, it's extremely distracting even though I can barely hear it. Anyone have any clue what it is?

Your neck muscles go to the top of your head passing just inside of your ears. When the muscles get tight they can press into the nerves going to your ears and that can cause the ringing.Freeing up the neck muscles releases that pressure off the nerves to stop the ringing and here's how to free them up:
Neck:
Place your hands behind your head so your fingers meet in the middle of your neck. Press into the neck with a moderate pressure and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your head as far as you can, then remove the pressure from the muscles but continue holding your head down for another 30 seconds.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
