Jeremy Richards Asked: Is anyone else worried Canada is falling behind Russia in terms of star forwards and quality prospec
If anyone has paid attention to what Russia is producing it's alarming for me as a Canadian hockey fan.
Vladimir Tarasenko, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Nail Yakupov, Mikhail Grigorenko, Nikita Kucherov,
Along with Ovechkin, Datsyuk, Kovalchuk, Malkin, Semin.
I mean who does Canada have? Sidney Crosby, Steven Stamkos?
Canada has been falling behind in terms of producing mega superstars the last couple of years it seems.
Yeah ok sure there is Tyler Seguin, Taylor Hall, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Jeff Skinner, Matt Duchene, John Tavares, Ryan Strome, Jonathan Huberdeau, Ryan johansen, Sean Couturier but they are all just potential at this point.
When I think of electrifying, Dynamic, sick moves, crazy one on one dangling that this country has, the only hockey player that comes to mind is Claude Giroux and boy oh boy is he ever a wizard with the puck.
It sickens me that Washington has Kuznetsov waiting in the pipeline and have Colorado's 1st round pick with the potential to pick Galchenyuk, Grigorenko or Yakupov.
It's going to make it that much harder for Sidney Crosby to compete for the Art Ross in the future, I mean who does he have to work with, Neal? Letang?
This country is long overdue for a centenial type talent of Gretzky or Lemieux's calibre.
Crosby and Stamkos is not enough.
I would argue Stamkos is the best goal scorer in the NHL and that Crosby is the best player in the world but still we're being left behind in terms of superstar power behind Russia.
Lets hope that Mackinnon kid is something special.
